Tumblr is working out quite nicely
I am really stoked about my return to tumblr. They have pulled together and added the features that have pushed me away in the past. Browsing the web, finding cool stuff and adding my own commentary, story or recommendation is very easy and fulfilling. I say fulfilling because I have a problem with feeling good about my blog so this is huge.
The theme I am using is called fluid. Out of the box it is very nice and easy on the eyes. I have a few modifications to work out, mainly around text formatting in posts, but for the most part it rocks.
One feature that I really appreciated was the ability to go out and find my own background image. Through tumblr’s customization interface I was able to upload the image and instantly change the look and feel of the site w/o having to alter any code. Yes, this was because the designer of the theme did a kick ass job with transparent windows and ensuring the seamless transition, but tumblr also made it super simple to do these changes on the fly.
